Assistive coding · demo

Explore the case. Review the codes.

Use a de-identified example to find keyword-matched coding candidates, or look up codes you already have. A starting point for human review.

How this demo works

Keyword matching compares your text with code descriptions and a curated set of examples. It does not interpret clinical meaning, reliably handle negation, or establish that documentation supports a code. ICD-10-CM describes diagnoses, ICD-10-PCS describes inpatient hospital procedures, and CPT/HCPCS describes services and supplies.

The reference snapshot contains CMS FY2026 ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, October 2026 HCPCS Level II, modifier lists, and a curated CPT subset. A keyword match is not a probability of correct coding.

Dated demo snapshot. FY2026 ICD-10-CM/PCS is a legacy reference: FY2027 applies from October 1, 2026. Verify the applicable date of service and current official files before coding. CMS code releases

Find candidates for review

Describe a de-identified case or upload an example note. The demo ranks lexical matches in its dated reference snapshot; review every candidate against the full documentation and coding guidance.

Upload limits: 10 MB per file; text PDFs up to 12 pages; scanned or mixed PDFs up to 2 pages. Larger files are rejected, not shortened.

Drop the clinical note here

or click to browse — PDF, photo, or scan

Type or paste a de-identified case description — or upload the note as PDF, photo, or scan.

This page processes clinical text and files in your browser. It downloads code data and document-reading libraries; do not use identifiable patient data. Theme preference is stored locally.

Before you paste or upload: strip patient names, dates of birth, MRNs, and anything else that identifies the patient. This demo needs the clinical story, not the identity.

Look up codes and format hints

Paste codes or upload a de-identified billing example to check reference lookup and formatting. Optional case text adds keyword hints. This does not validate medical necessity, documentation, modifiers, sequencing, payer rules, or a billable claim.

What this demo can tell you

  • A dated reference, not current billing guidance. CMS FY2026 ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, October 2026 HCPCS Level II, and modifier lists provide the demo reference. FY2027 ICD-10 applies from October 1, 2026. CPT coverage is a curated subset; the complete set requires an AMA license.
  • Keyword evidence, not clinical confidence. Matches show words found in your text. They may miss a relevant code or return an unsuitable candidate, including for negated or historical conditions.
  • Lookup has a narrow scope. Finding a code or modifier in a reference does not establish applicability, correct pairing, documentation support, sequencing, or payment. Confirm every choice with current guidance and qualified coding review.
  • De-identified examples only. This page processes clinical text and files in your browser. It downloads code data and document-reading libraries; do not use identifiable patient data. Theme preference is stored locally.

Explore the research behind the demo.

The research examines what an assistive coding system would need: broader reference coverage, payer guidance, clinical review, and independent evaluation.
